New adviser prepares for role

After an extensive, nationwide search, the OU Publications Board approved the appointment of Judy Gibbs Robinson as editorial adviser of The Oklahoma Daily on May 8. The position will combine two of her professed loves daily news and teaching into one package. Robinson began June 4.
In a way, I’ve been preparing for this job for 14 years.

Features builds diverse pubs, portfolios
In the summer of 2004, OU Student Media made a seemingly radical decision: Split the award-winning Sooner yearbook in two.
Three years later, the split, and the Features area that grew from it, creates a home for students interested in magazine journalism, produces book projects that get rave reviews across campus and provides a variety of niche publications for the university audience. (And Sooner, as part of an OU yearbook package, continues to garner national praise, including a recent Gold Crown.) >>> more
Nancy Logan retires after two decades
After more than 20 years in the department, accountant Nancy Logan retired at the end of February. Before leaving to oversee the construction of a new home, she trained Student Media’s newest professional staffer, Sherri Shipman. Sherri brings valuable experience to her new role, including positions at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History and the Federal Aviation Administration.
